Bollywood in Cannes

For the fifth consecutive year, the Confederation of Indian Industry will head for the 12-day Cannes Film Festival and Market beginning May 16 to project India and Indian cinema with support from the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting.

There will be a red carpet walk for India at the Cannes Film Festival on May 19. This year marks the special importance for India at the Cannes Film Festival, as it marks the 60 th anniversary of Indian Independence and 60 years of Cannes Film Festival.

The India participation will be lead by officials of the Information and Broadcasting Ministry, industry leaders and film stars.

Over 80 companies will position themselves at Cannes taking 150 films (mainly for the market section) and 35 new projects. This year over 20 exhibitors from India will showcase their products and projects at Palais and the India Pavilion on the sea front along the ritzy croisette.



The two “India focus” days have been allotted in the All Cinemas of the World and seven (07) Indian films will be screened at the festival. India is also the partner country at the opening dinner of the Cannes Film Market.

The seven Indian movies selected for this section include Saira (Malayalam), Missed Call (Hindi/English), Guru (Hindi), Dosar (Bengali), Veyil (Tamil), Dharm (Hindi) and Lage Raho Munnabhai (Hindi).

The Ministry of Information and Broadcasting will be hosting the India Party on May 18, 2007 at the Majestic Beach on the occasion of the India Focus with the Cannes Film Festival.

聽說Guru失準.

Loso兄, 香港應該有得搵到Shilpa Shetty果套Metro(現叫Life in A... Metro).

我覺得現在的Shilpa Shetty比Ash順眼, Queen of Bollywood汲汲可危了.
